JEMMA KIDD

Jemma’s interest in makeup was sparked with stints in both modelling and styling. While attending Glauca Rossi makeup school in London, she was given the opportunity to be a first assistant to international makeup artist Mary Greenwell. This provided an intensive hands-on training that prepared the way for her future career, while simultaneously allowing her to build her portfolio.

As Jemma’s reputation grew, she was constantly featured in Vogue USA, Elle UK, M, and wrote a monthly column for You magazine until 2012. Excellent at public speaking, Jemma is continuously asked to take part in global seminars and forums for beauty brands. She released her book “Makeup Secrets” by Jemma Kidd in 2012 which is still a coveted resource amongst both makeup artists and regular women.

So impressed by her natural confidence and knowledge of the beauty industry, in 2000 Jemma Kidd was signed on by make-up giant Max Factor for a three year contract to be their official spokesperson. That same year she was nominated for makeup artist of the year at the Pantene awards alongside her former mentor, Mary Greenwell and Pat McGrath. A visionary ‘voice’, Jemma has also held contracts with Rimmel, Stila and Astralift.

As a leading global makeup artist, Jemma Kidd combines professional excellence and innovation, contemporary fashion and lifestyle glamour. During her career she has worked with the world’s leading photographers including Peter Lindberg, Paolo Roversi, David Bailey, Rankin, Elaine Constantine, Bryan Adams, Mary McCartney and the late Lord Litchfield. Jemma has also worked with a host of prestigious magazine titles such as Vogue, L’Uomo Vogue, Vanity Fair, W Magazine, i-D, Glamour, ELLE, GQ, Tatler and Sunday Times Style.

She has worked with Hollywood A-listers; Sienna Miller, Joely Richardson, Diane Kruger and Colin Firth; top models, such as Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Erin O'Connor, Liberty Ross, Laura Bailey and Jerry Hall.

Jemma Kidd Make Up Limited was founded in September 2004 with the vision of creating a new generation cosmetic and beauty house. The company closed in 2013 after a successful global run. This year, Jemma launched her luxurious pajama line “JemJams” in select distribution within the UK. She continues to work with brands and do select speaking engagements.
